Today I ordered lunch from this place to work they took 2 hours for delivery I made several calls to them the lady that keep picking up for me kept saying he left 45 minutes ago I told her that’s not fare we are paying $30 the food came cold and I called the lady back she told me to put it in the microwave what kind of service is that I ordered lunch at work and now I have to warm it up don’t make no sense I lost out $30 because the lady just said for me to call the driver so he can tell me that there’s was a lot of traffic and she did nothing not even an apology they lost a customer I would never order again bad business. 👎🏻

Here it seem like the servers have a “pick your own price program” I been goin here for the past year and I’ve paid at least 4 different prices for the same meal every time. The man that serve me today looked me in my face and BOLDFACE LIED about the price! He said the price was never $17! First few times there I paid with cash when I went in March I paid $17 with card that was the only time I got good service by the lady that’s always cleaning /mopping she even asked me if it was enough chiccoronnes! My friend speak Spanish she recommended this place and her family were regulars until she saw what they were doing to me… she went in and she order the same meal. Rice beans chiccoronnes - large! She go to her car and wait. I go in order the same thing… $22. I get to my own car call her she ask me how much they charged me I said $22 I asked her how much they charged her she said $15!!!!! I said wow! Not for nothing they seem irritated when someone come in and don’t speak spanish! So today he told me it was $25 for the same platter I said “why is it not $17” he said “it was never $17” I get to my car go to my banking app and found the transaction from March of me payin $17! He lied and I will never support a liar! It has everything to do with race as well how is it that Spanish folks get charged less than everybody else??? The lady at the counter seemed not to be enjoying her job. She was rude and in a rush. I was recommended this place stating their food was excellent and I was hugely disappointed. Most of the food was not ready and it was close to 12. Several people including us asking for chicharrón and it wasn't ready. ⭐☆☆☆☆ Unfortunately, not the experience I hoped for. I was really looking forward to trying Dania’s after hearing some good things and noticing it was close to my job. Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing. I understand there may have been a language barrier, and I always try to be patient and open-minded in those situations. However, I couldn’t help but feel unwelcome during my time there. I ordered a specific meal and was told it would take 20 minutes, which I was totally fine with. But when I tried to ask how much it would be, I was ignored. As I waited, I noticed several people who came in after me were served first, and no one made an effort to update me or acknowledge the delay. The overall energy and treatment felt dismissive, and while I don’t want to immediately assume it was due to race, I can’t ignore the feeling that it may have played a part. I decided to leave and cancel my order. Service: 1

I’ve been going to this establishment from the time that they first opened and this has been over 35 years (I don’t want to show my age) but it’s been a little longer. I must say that the food is as amazing as it was then. I’m proud to know that this neighborhood staple is still here and thriving. Went there and it was a very sad experiense..it was my first time too..I donot like to give places a bad reviews, but this one touch me. Ordered over the phone and their prompt attention to service is well worth coming here, not to mention how absolutely delicious their chicharrones are! The yuca was so savory and not dry. Their complimentary sauces to go with the food are to die for!! I cannot wait to go back! This spot is truly a diamond in the rough and I highly recommend it! Horrible customer service , stood there waiting awhile to order while there was like 4 girls standing on the side doing absolutely nothing but joking around and laughing . I had called the restaurant a few times to order on time so it’ll be ready , do to parking being bad cause of the snow and it sounded busy for a very long time . Over salted slop. The only good thing is the Chicharron. They poor the entire container of salt per pot. I have a migraine. Very unorganized. They will let people cut the line. The wait time is ridiculous because they are all over the place. People need to be appointed on who's doing what. You can't cook and serve. The owner needs to get in control of this. It's a mess. The pernil was dried out. The Arroz con pollo and bistek was so salty I had to throw it all away. The meat looked old anyways. I'm So sad about it. It smelled so good in there. I thought I was gonna get good food. They should sell only Chicharron..... because the rest of the food isn't good TO ME...... Food wasn't made fresh, we ordered sancocho and they had to throw it out because it smelled bad. Most of the guisados were not freshly made. Probably the chicharrones were the only thing we enjoyed. Overpriced for what we got. A plate of rice, carne guisada, yuca and maduros was $22. There is no service when you eat in, no one waits on you, you have to get your own drinks from the fridge and the tables barely seat 2 people. The other day I got, Dania’s Restaurant, for lunch. I ordered their Goat Platter w/ Rice & Okra. It was absolutely AMAZING! The goat had excellent flavor and they also had a wonderful texture to them. The rice was pretty good as well too. Really fresh tasting. The best was the Okra!!! I asked the lady to give more veggies than rice and she happily obliged and gave a great portion size! The Okra was sooooo good! This place has not missed yet on any items I have ordered for every time I have went. But, I just had to comment on their Okra and the Goat. From great customer service, to phenomenal food. This place is awesome. I’d highly recommend, Dania’s Restaurant, to anyone in the Newark area looking for some amazing food at a reasonable price! This place is not fancy or very friendly but they make Excellent Spanish food. Got the pernil and chicharrones Both were excellent! The chicharrone was super crispy with flavorful meat sections. They give some lime which was nice to cut up the fattiness

It was good but online it said Peruvian food. I order Chaufa and it definitely wasn't chaufa. But the rotisserie chicken and the ribs were so good. I was just disappointed about what I wanted and what I received but the food was so good so I can't complain about the food that I received.
